Self-transformation represents man’s capacity to “evolve”.
To “evolve” means to change one’s mindset:
- Deep-rooted habits
- Deeply held opinions / beliefs
- Style of engagement
- Identity-description in a positive and conscious manner.
The means of evolution are four-fold:
- Experiences – described best as mindset changing encounters (moment of truth narrative model).
- Reflection – a process of facing difficult truths about oneself (challenge-response narrative model).
- Feedback – engaging positively with failure (challenge-response narrative model).
- Guidance – a process of believing and then realizing the truth of that belief through one’s life (evolutionary journey narrative model).
To “evolve” means developing new capacities in oneself:
- Capacity to modify or grow a vision or identity of myself.
- Capacity to transform deep-rooted personal habits – physical or mental.
- Capacity to reflect upon and reassess one’s own opinions and beliefs.
- Capacity to bring about a change in one’s patterns of interactions with others.
