People evolve through three ways \u2013 through \u201ccoping through life\u201d, through \u201cmeaningful work\u201d and through \u201cideas\u201d<\/p>\n

People evolve through three ways<\/p><\/div>\n

Most of us evolve by \u201ccoping through life\u201d <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Struggle \u2013 dealing with the vicissitudes of life \u2013 both ups and downs \u2013 result in forbearance, patience, recognition of one\u2019s responsibilities, awareness of one\u2019s limitations and the recognition of one\u2019s unity at the level of human experience.<\/p>\n

These are spiritual outcomes and are transformative in one\u2019s consciousness. Rituals, visiting of holy places, satsang (the company of holy people), practice of serving others, etc. are the \u201ctools\u201d through which these spiritual outcomes are speedily realized.<\/p>\n

\u00a0This is a reactive mode of life. Life hits you and you cope. And by coping you grow.<\/em><\/p>\n

A few of us evolve through \u201cmeaningful work\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cNishkama Karma\u201d \u2013 motiveless work, work done in a spirit of contribution and service results in the creation of positive outcomes in the world around us. Further, \u201cmeaningful work\u201d means evolution in terms of one\u2019s ideas regarding reward, contribution, expectation from others, etc. These result in a rapid expansion of one\u2019s personality. At an even deeper level, \u201cmeaningful work\u201d is accomplished through an attitude of \u201cmake it happen\u201d \u2013 an actualizing mindset, that enables one to integrate one\u2019s thoughts and one\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n

These are evolutionary outcomes of a double nature \u2013 spiritual in terms of the expansion of self and a \u201cgrowth mindset\u201d \u2013 material in terms of positive outcomes for the good of all.<\/p>\n

Here, you take on trouble and take on new outcomes in the world, and thereby you grow. This is much faster than the first one.<\/em><\/p>\n

The rarest few are those who evolve through “ideas” themselves<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Evolving through ideas means recognizing, living with, sharing and personally practicing an idea \u2013 irrespective of the work context, and irrespective of the life context.<\/p>\n

Put differently, evolving through ideas means \u201cimmersion\u201d, \u201ccognition\u201d and \u201cassimilation\u201d of an idea and the consequent immediate transformation of one\u2019s consciousness \u2013 followed by changes in one\u2019s work and thereafter followed by changes in the quality of one\u2019s struggle.<\/p>\n

Evolving through ideas is a view that transcends the spiritual and material dichotomy of existence and represents the gradual realization of Universal Consciousness in the here and now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
