To change means to say we are not valid. This <em>negates<\/em> us rather than <em>affirms<\/em> us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This makes change painful, destructive, and critical in its mood.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-bottom: 5px;\">Is it necessary that change be born of negation?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No, change can be born of affirmation. We could change by saying that we seek to develop new \u201cimproved versions\u201d of our current identity.<\/p>\n<p>We could expand our identity rather than break it or reshape it.
