I

Human possibility is not about “capability”. It is about human evolution.

II

Human evolution takes places because humans confer upon themselves new possibilities, and then ‘will’ themselves to realize those possibilities.

III

The power of “conferring possibility” on oneself is uniquely human. Because we are human, we have the potential to ‘be’ and ‘become’. All other living entities operate within the structure of their constraints – in short their possibilities are a function of capabilities. In human beings alone capabilities are a function of possibilities.

IV

Is Man’s physical frame itself a boundary? History has shown not. We accomplish motion faster than our two legs. We accomplish even song greater than the sounds from our lips.

Man has consistently created, where necessary, tools that extend his own capabilities, once he has seen for himself the possibilities he wants to realize.

V

Can human possibilities be created? Can it be engineered? Or, in a new language, evolved? Both at an individual level and a community level.
